Wunderfold can be used in many different ways to help you mark your books. Here’s a comparison of the differences between them. Which one you use depends on your own preferences. To make the most of your time, Wunderfold recommends using the Ruler view, or the PDF Graph export option.

To print or not to print?
Some prefer to print their patterns out on paper, while others would rather work straight from their computer, phone, or tablet. While printing is the traditional method, there are benefits to avoiding it. You can save on ink and paper. It’s also faster.
On the other hand, some people’s eyes may have an easier time working off of printed paper. And it’s easy to put your pattern inside the book pages while marking.
Table or graph?
Some folders prefer using a table of numbers and measuring them out with a ruler. Others would rather mark their pages using pre-measured reference lines from the pattern. You can do either with Wunderfold!
The main benefit of using a table of numbers is that it’s familiar - if you have folded books in the past, you have probably done it this way, and know how to do it.
The benefits of a graph (or the on-screen ruler) are that it is easier, faster, and more precise than working with a table of numbers, since there’s no measuring involved. It’s much easier to avoid making mistakes.
On-screen table
The first tab in Wunderfold is the on-screen table. You can use it to read through your numbers one page at a time. Once your pattern is ready, you can use the numbers listed to start marking page by page. Use the arrow buttons, or the keys on your keyboard to move between pages. You can also click around the preview image to jump directly to the page you want to mark.
Printed table
To print a pattern in table form, go to the Print/Export tab. If you have a Maker subscription, hit the print button, and it will open a print dialog to print out your pattern for you.
If you have a Pro subscription, you can also hit the export button, which will create a PDF for you which is customizable in several ways – you can edit the fields, change options such as page size and which preview image to use, and add custom instructions of your own.
On-screen ruler
To mark patterns on-screen without measuring, use the Ruler view – the second tab in Wunderfold – to mark right from your screen. This is quick, easy, and is the only way to mark a book that doesn’t require a printer or a ruler. This feature is unique to Wunderfold! Watch this video to learn more:
Graph patterns
To mark off-screen, you can generate a graph pattern. This requires a Pro subscription. Each line represents a page of the book, and you just line up the line with the page and mark it, so no measuring is required. This is both faster and more precise than using a ruler.
