Exporting Your Pattern
Wunderfold offers three different ways to export a pattern for Pro users:
- PDF Table
- PDF Graph
- CSV
Table Export
This is the standard method of creating a book folding pattern. Each page is represented as a row in a table, and each mark is listed in the row for the page. Each mark is measured with a ruler, then marked and cut or folded. While this is the best-known method for marking a book, it is also the slowest, and Wunderfold recommends that you try either exporting a graph, or using the on-screen table or ruler within Wunderfold to mark your pages quickly and accurately.
Graph Export
This method creates a pdf with a graphical representation of your pattern, where each line represents a page, and the dark blocks represent the folds on the page. This method allows you to fold very precise patterns without measuring, making the process much faster than measuring each mark yourself using a ruler.
This method requires printing the pattern out on paper. If you would like to mark a pattern without printing or measuring, try using Wunderfold’s ruler view instead.
Options
Line Orientation
Wunderfold can print your pattern with the top of the image at either the right or left side of the pattern. To decide which option to use, lay the book in front of you the way you like to mark it, and then look at whether the top of the book is to the right or to the left, and choose the option that matches it.
The printed pattern will have a mark that says “Top of Page”. Make sure it lines up with the top of the page as you’re marking, or the image will come out upside-down.
CSV Export
You can export your pattern as a CSV file that includes the numbers for each page in a simple table that can be loaded into many different software programs, including spreadsheet software such as Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets. This allows you make customized changes to your patterns. Recommended for advanced users only.
